Irish Setters are energetic, intelligent, hearty, and full of energy. They have no protective instincts, go easy with other animals, and are good with children. The Irish Setter is alert but sensitive. This breed can be enthusiastic and spirited, while others are more reserved.
It is a very sweet and impulsive race. Sometimes they are difficult to train, probably because of their independent spirit, but with fixed rigor and a lot of practice, Irish setter is a joy to own. Irish Setters are extremely fast, with an excellent sense of smell and strong on any terrain and in any climate.
